Yuka
Yuka is an app my brother intro’d me to. It lets you scan food items when you’re shopping, and gives them a rating out of 100. Yuka also lists any bad additives. Yes, assigning a score is a bit arbitrary. And the app – since it’s crowdsourced – can be inaccurate too. I’ve put a few screenshots below.
Yuka Shopping
This is where you go shopping, scan anything you want to buy, and only buy it if its score on Yuka is over 50.
Occam’s Yuka
You go shopping and – if you need Yuka to tell whether it’s healthy – then don’t buy it. No Yuka required. No phone required.
